A RESEARCH TO STUDY THE HEALTHCARE CRISIS AMONG THE HEALTH FACILITIES IN BOMET COUNTY.

Abstract: This research study was carried out to investigate the dire health status in Bomet County, focusing on several critical areas including delayed salaries, understaffing, inadequate compensation, unjust employment practices, drug shortages, and the demanding work environment faced by Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE) healthcare workers. Data was collected from 55 healthcare facilities across the county through structured questionnaires containing both open ended and closed ended questions analysed manually using a calculator and presented using tables, pie charts and graphs conducted by Faith Chelangat. The findings reveal alarming realities, showcasing the urgent need for intervention to address these systemic challenges. A descriptive study design with a cross-section study design was conducted among healthcare workers working in the 55 health facilities which were randomly sampled.
